Inspired by the shifting beauty of the opal stone, this reception space in Riyadh explores how colour can create atmosphere and shape experience. Just like the gem, the space changes with the light – revealing new tones, new moods, and new layers of depth.
Lavender accents soften the palette, while bold burgundy on the ceiling and walls grounds the room with warmth and energy. The goal was to use colour as a language to tell a story that can be truly felt and seen.
The vision was to work with colour as the main design element. The challenge lay in creating a space that feels bold and expressive, without overwhelming the senses. Every hue had to carry intention. The balance between saturation, texture, and light was crucial, ensuring the space stayed elegant and immersive.
The result is a room that moves with the light. Burgundy and lavender shift gently throughout the day, creating a space that feels different each time you enter. The bold ceiling draws the eye upward, expanding the perception of space, while soft finishes ground it with calm. This room offers an experience. A place where light and colour work together to shape how you feel.
